Preschool STEAM Days are designed to give young children and their adult chaperones a taste of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Discover how people learned to fly by studying birds and experimenting with kites, gliders, and planes! After comparing the shapes and functions of a bird’s body with an airplane, young aviators make their own take-home flying machines.

We will take a merry, not scary, look at some of the animals that crawl and creep. We’ll watch worms at work, meet a visiting reptile friend, and make a firefly model that glows in the dark.

Look beyond the Earth into the sky. Visit our STARLAB planetarium to learn more about our Sun, the stars and the planets.

Discover how much fun learning about magnets can be as you go fishing to determine which items are magnetic, paint with magnets, and count how many paperclips your magnet can hold.

This class is the blueprint for fun! Young architects will explore shapes and patterns while constructing a variety of structures. Can your straw, stick, and brick houses stand up to the breath of the Big Bad Wolf?

Dates: First Wednesdays of the month, according to the schedule (no programs in January or April)
Times:
Check-in: 10:00 – 10:30 am
Costs:
$5 per participating child
$8 per adult and $8 per non-participating child (members and four and under have free admission)
Class Registration: Visit https://www.airzoo.org/preschool-steam for registration instructions. Walk-ins on the day of the event cannot register for the program. Online registration deadline is the week before each class at 5 pm.

We took our grown daughters and young grandsons to the Air Zoo. It was very entertaining for all of us. There is so much to see and do. Rides for the whole family!
