In 2019, the Air Zoo celebrated four decades of flight and family; people, planes, and programs; spacecraft and science; education and exhibitions! We hope you were able to join us when our special anniversary exhibition Memories and Milestones first debuted. Now, with its new location in the Flight Discovery Center, our look into the early days of the Air Zoo may be enjoyed anytime.

About the Memories & Milestones Exhibit

What better place to tell the story than where it all began?!?! Explore the story of our co-founders, Sue and Pete Parish, and learn about the first objects that made up our collection—all too big to fit in an archival box! Peer into a scale model of the Flight Discovery Center and learn about the museum’s expansions. Recall the thrill of our High on Kalamazoo air shows, including the iconic cat flights! Learn about the early days of our acclaimed Restoration Center and find out how the Air Zoo first put the space into aerospace. Add your favorite Air Zoo memory to our chalkboard, see historic photos from our archives, and coming soon, construct some fun with your little ones in our Junior Restoration Center!
