The P-40 Giving Society exists to cultivate, recognize and steward relationships with the Air Zoo’s major donors. Defined as those contributing $1,000 or more annually, P-40 donors provide substantial support to the Air Zoo’s ability to preserve aviation history and engage guests in experiences that elevate STEAM fields of study and occupations. 

From opening in 1979, the Air Zoo has stood out on the American landscape as an innovative contributor to the preservation of aviation history. In the years since, the Air Zoo has also become an invaluable partner in STEAM engagement and education for all ages. Along the way, an increased focus on major giving has allowed the Air Zoo to expand its impact in our community, region and on visitors from throughout the country and around the world. 

Areas of Impact

While unrestricted gifts provide invaluable support of the Air Zoo’s greatest needs, designated gifts allow for support of specific departments such as education, restoration, exhibits, collection, facilities, etc. Through the Air Zoo’s Community Access Programs (CAP), designated gifts can also help make Air Zoo experiences accessible to families experiencing financial insecurity. CAP provides donor-supported scholarships, memberships, admissions, and programs at reduced rates or no cost to qualified applicants. In their own ways, undesignated and designated gifts support the Air Zoo in preserving aviation and aerospace history and providing impactful STEAM experiences of over 200,000 visitors each year. 

Ways to Give The Air Zoo welcomes major gifts in many forms and amounts. Our Gift Acceptance Policy allows for gifts of cash, retirement plan assets, stock and other securities.  Planned giving and gifts of life insurance are also greatly appreciated and help us to continue our important mission for years to come.  

Participate and Advocate

Those committing a gift of $1,000 or more annually are considered members of the P-40 Giving Society. In addition to knowing that your annual support will be used per your wishes, P-40 members also enjoy the following:

• Semi-annual P-40 newsletter, including stories from fellow Society members and valuable information from local advisors who are Air Zoo supporters themselves.
• Annual opportunities to go behind-the-scenes with other Society members.
• VIP invitations to special events, exhibit launches, and more!
